This ad is for the environmental organization 350. They hold conferences and protests internationally in an attempt to change the world's ways. Micah went to one this past weekend and really enjoyed it, which inspired me to make this ad. Everyone was supposed to commute to the conference in an eco friendly manner, hence the bike in my picture. That's the specific purpose behind the bike, but in a more general way it obviously represents being green. The young tree shows an easy step forward for the environment and I felt it was appropriate to write 350 with something natural.

Just a Pretty Picture?

This photo is more than just a nice picture. Hurricane Irene changed or destroyed numerous small things, and this is one example. Everyone talks about the homes and roads that were swept away, but there are a million other smaller things that need to be remade as well. I'm highlighting this with my picture because humans tend to focus exclusively on the bigger stuff. It will be a very long time before every little detail is back to normal.  Nobody is going to be horribly inconvenienced by the washing away of this piece of land, but it certainly will need fixing.
